Make sure that you have your keys on you when you approach your vehicle. Lined up with the center of the back of your car, you will make a quick motion with your foot underneath the rear bumper of your vehicle. There is a sensor located just under your vehicle, centered with your license plate. Your trunk lid will start to open once you have engaged the motion-activated liftgate. You can load your trunk. When you’re done, you will make the same motion to close your trunk lid. This time, you will hear a beeping sound before the lid starts to close down. Step out of the way, so you’re not in the way of it closing. It closes very slowly, so you don’t have to worry about getting hurt. It will also sense if someone is in the way of it closing.
